I found education as a second career about 15 years ago and I haven’t looked back. I love teaching and learning and can’t imagine a more rewarding life. I started my Ph. D. in Educational Psychology with an Instructional Technology emphasis in Fall 2015. My research interests include teacher preparation, motivation, and the use of simulations in learning for both teacher education and students with special needs.
Prior to beginning, I was the Coordinator of Innovation and Learner Engagement for a large K-12 district in Southern California. I was responsible for managing the Learning Management System, Google Apps for Education Domain including Chromebooks, 1:1 tablet programs, and multiple other instructional technology programs that were used in the district. I have a Bachelor’s in Visual and Multimedia Communication, a Master’s in Educational Technology, and a Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching. I am also a Google Certified Educator and Google for Education Certified Trainer, and a Leading Edge Certified Educator.
The most important fact about me is that I am a mother of two fabulous young men. When I am not teaching or learning, I read, hike, cook, and enjoy time with my friends.
